BAH!!

Guess what gang.... I have pink eye!

Isn't that just so special?

For the last 2 days its felt like I had something stuck in my eye. This morning I awoke to a burning sensation, tears galore, and a bloodshot eye. The large blurry spot affecting my visual field was what had my family Dr. sending me to the ER. So an hour and $100 later, I'm sent home from work with a diagnosis of conjunctivitis. And, I can't go back to work for 24 hours after starting the antibiotic drops. Which virtually means that I'll miss 2 days of work since I started the drops at 11 this morning. (I get out work at 2:30, so going in at 11 pretty much kills most of the day.)

Then I've been having continuing problems with my Internet service. (Charter) So, I spent a good chunk of my now free afternoon dealing with that. Isn't it funny that it always works while you've got the service person on the phone, but right after hanging up with them it goes on the fritz again? (I'm rolling my pink eyes!) I finally gave up and took a nap. It's now 11:21 and its still not working right.

Today wasn't a total loss. My sister came to my rescue and stood in line to get me some wine bottles for my wine collection. These are special bottles because they are signed by 2 of my favorite all time Red Wings, Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay. I couldn't go because I couldn't get out of work, and when I did get out of work it was because I had contagious pink eye. So I owe a big favor and THANK YOU to my sister Ainz!

I'm off to exercise and put the drops in my eye yet again. See ya next time.

Per your request...

It's been requested that I update my blog more frequently. So, here goes... This goes out to my loyal readers. All 6 of you.

Not a whole lot of anything interesting is going on right now. Just same old, same old as they say. Work, exercise, and sleep are pretty much the only thing currently on the schedule. Had a fun time over Easter weekend. Leah and I did an Easter egg hunt. Dad took her on a walk through the woods while I hid the eggs throughout the house. My favorite part of the whole egg hunt was when I told Leah to put her Easter bunny (She was holding the chocolate bunny in her hand) in her basket, and she ran over, grabbed her stuffed bunny and put him in the basket. I think we had too many eggs because I kept forgetting where I had hidden them.

Work is typical work. One of my co-workers turned in her 2 week notice. But since she only works part time, it's not really going to affect the schedule too much. 2 of the other girls in the office have announced that they are pregnant. The other secretary and I have been keeping track of the number of phone calls we get and figured that we handle about 70-75 calls per day between the 2 of us. Only about 1/2 of them being actually for our office. The rest are for the other sites, wrong numbers, and other departments. (We've even gotten calls for the gift shop.) We're keeping track because of an upcoming scheduled meeting between us and another office. Both the other secretary and I think that the other office wants us to do more of the work that they currently do. We want to have ammunition to show that we don't have time to do all that we do, plus their crap. Petty I know, but sometimes you have to play the game to get the results you need.

One of my friends had her baby 6 weeks early by emergency c-section. Both mom and baby are ok. Cierra Christine was born around 5 AM on Good Friday. She weighed just over 5 lbs and was able to go home from the NICU today. An Easter miracle! I'm going over to see them tomorrow. That should be fun.

I'm sitting here blogging while watching the Wings play the Blues. Currently, the Wings are ahead 2-1. The refs have lost control of the game as usual, sending a steady stream of players to the penalty box. But they are being crappy to both teams, so I'm not complaining. That's all I can ask for.

Soon I'm gonna go do my exercise and then crash for the night. I can't wait for the weather to be nice again. I want to walk outside instead of in the confines of my apartment. I wasn't good on my diet this last weekend, so I'm trying to be extra good this week. So, I'm STARVING tonight. I ate plenty to be full today, but my mind keeps saying "Feed me! Feed me!"

I'll talk at ya'll later. Hopefully I'll have something interesting to report for my next blog. Who knows, maybe I'll meet Prince Charming, win the lotto, or even have done something drastic with my hair or wardrobe.
