Ok, I'm not whining, but are we there yet? This week has been killer and it's only Tuesday.
Yesterday work was incredibly busy and hard. The first thing I noticed upon arriving Monday morning was that the order printer had run out of paper the day before. (Not surprisingly, no one noticed.) And continuing with the "We must do therapy with everyone in the state of Michigan" theme of the month, there was a 5 inch stack of orders that needed to be dealt with. All within 1 hour of my arrival since the therapists start treating patients as soon as they get there at 7 AM. Didn't happen in case you were wondering. I ran about an hour and a half behind all day yesterday.
Today was much better in the work regard. The printer was working correctly, there was half the amount of orders that needed to be dealt with, and I was able to keep relatively close to on schedule. The only glitch was the new parking/entrance situation at the hospital. They are in the process of major building reconstruction and relocated the hospital entrance. Today was the first day with the new entrance and everyone patients and staff, were totally confused. The staff now has to park in Timbuktu. I got to work on time, but was late badging in because I had to walk almost a mile to get into the building.
After a busy weekend and Monday morning, I was physically exhausted. So, after work and running to the store to pick up a few things, I let myself take a quick nap. That quick nap ended up being a 3 hour snore fest. I feel much better, but still tired. On the plus side, I physically saw and talked to my neighbor. You all remember the one I was worried about over the winter, the one I was gonna check his apartment for a body. He's in the process of moving to New Mexico for his job.
Tomorrow will be another busy day, but has the possibility of greatness. My schedule includes work as usual. Then I'll be treking over to Mt. Pleasant to go to the "Salute to working women" hosted by a local radio station. They are going to have food, raffle type prize drawings, and good music. And I might even be able to get paid for going out there if I end up having to stop at one of our work locations along the way and take a picture for the staff directory. Then I'll trek back home and hopefully not miss much of the Wings vs Preds playoff hockey game. I'm even gonna give myself the day off of exercising. (Not to worry, I'll make up the time another day this week.)
Thursday will be a hopefully normal day. With just work, exercise, and maybe visiting a friend who recently had a baby. Then Friday is going to be another Chicken with my head cut off day since the other Admin. Assistant is going on vacation. So, for the next 2 weeks I'll be running the rehab department offices by myself. My boss supposedly is getting help for me, but I'll believe it when I see someone walk in the door. And due to the fact that our office is open until 5 each day and I usually get out of work at 2:30, I'll be getting quite a bit of overtime to make sure the office is covered. 2 weeks of 11 hour days (6 AM to 5 PM) ; gotta love it!
Well gang, I've practically written a book tonight. I'm off to exercise and then try to get to bed before midnight. I'll see ya'll later. Be blessed and happy.
